To open a new project
- Open OBOEdit program
- Select File: New Ontology
This will open a new empty OBOEdit file
To adjust the settings for the project
- Metadata tab: id manager
- new id setting
(+) profile name
- Metadata tab: namespace manager
- make sure MOO.obo
This name is redundant and should be shortened to microbial_observable.obo since the obo means that it's an ontology file.
Terms
- (7, 1, 9999999) this is to indicate the numbers will be 7-digits long, starting at 1 and going through 9,999,999
- Commit
- If you put in a definition, then you have to put in a DBXref
