Notes
- Caffeine Resistant bacteria developed from UV repair deficient strains were found to have acquired increased resistance to UV irradiation.
- In some strains of caffeine resistant bacteria there was found to be a correlation between caffeine resistance and suppression, specifically; of the CafR mutants derived from substrain 112-12 80% carried the su-II+ amber suppressor, indicating a possible process for collecting suppressor mutants by selecting for caffeine resistance.
